Assessment of Flood Risk
The modeling tools described on previous pages can be used to simulate and assess extreme episodic events.
In addition, it is possible to create an ensemble of simulations to determine average behaviour e.g. wave climate, and to determine sensitivity to input parameters (e.g. wind direction).
Based on information from the static and dynamic water modeling it is possible to estimate the impact on populatio and property. The purpose of the assessment is to ensure that decision-makers consider these impacts before deciding whether to proceed with new projects as well as prepare for possible damages that may occur.
